Scroll in photos since update

Before the recent update, I could scroll through my photos and lot easier. There would be a scroll bar on the right where I could drag it to a specific month or year but since the update, that seems to have gone and now I just have to keep pushing the pictures up (a bit like swiping up on tiktok) until I get to the relevant month/year which takes ages. I hope this makes sense. Does anyone have a work around or fix please?

@Themarsh When you start swiping the pictures up/down the little handle for the scroll bar will appear on the right side. You can then grab the handle and scroll rapidly through the photos.

Thanks, that's what I meant but the handle is no longer there any more since the update. It doesn't let me move them using a handle anymore, it's disappeared

@Themarsh If you don't have Dark mode enabled, the handle is hard to see with the white screen in the Gallery. The handle is very, very light gray. 

You may want to try chaning your phone to Dark mode so that you can see it.

Oh my goodness! I hadn't realised the update had taken me out of dark mode. Doh! That's fixed it. Thank you, you are a star!! 😀

I don't like my phone in dark mode and would like to have the scroll bar appear in a width that I can actually see and move with my finger... I don't understand change a feature that's not broken
