When tapping my phone at the , Samsung Wallet will automatically switch to Google Wallet. Google Wallet will show a message stating the card isn't activated!

*The weird part is, I don't have Google Wallet installed.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue where tapping the Samsung Wallet app on your phone redirects you to Google Wallet, even though you don't have Google Wallet installed. This could be due to a few reasons, including having Google Pay set as the default payment app or having a pre-installed Google Wallet that you're not aware of.

Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

1. Google Pay is set as the default payment app:

Even if you don't have the Google Wallet app visible, Google Pay might still be set as the default for tap-to-pay transactions. To check and change this:Go to your phone's Settings app.Search for "NFC" or "Tap & pay".Look for the "Payment default" or "Tap & pay default" setting. If it's set to Google Pay, change it to Samsung Wallet

I had the same issue. Samsung Pay has been working flawlessly for years. All of a sudden, yesterday when I tapped, Google Pay wanted me to sign up and it canceled the transaction. Google changed my default Samsung Pay without my knowledge or permission. Unfortunately, I didn't see your solution until after I updated my phone to the egregious and defective OneUI 7. Now, I don't have wifi anymore. No solution, as is normal for Samsung soo, It may be time to leave Android. Thanks for posting the solution to Google Pay sticking its nose in my business! 😊 👍
