Been searching through the interwebs and see a lot of folks w/ similar issues, but no good solutions.  I have spent hours with AT&T troubleshooting all to no avail.

I feel like this all started when my S24 Ultra was upgraded to One UI 7.

I am having issues where text messages to groups are hit or miss (both sending and receiving).  Of course I never know when a group does not receive my response or message, so it is very frustrating when I am expecting a response. I don't seem to have issues texting with a single party, even when sending photos and such.

Some of folks are switching from standard text messaging app (I use Textra) to Google Messages to take advantage of RCS.  I personally do not like the Google Messages interface (Change BaD!) so I am trying to figure out if there might be some solution that would allow me to continue to use Textra and not have to wonder if my messages are making it through.

Thanks in advance

I would reach out to Textra, they are after all better at trying to solve your problem, consideringl they are the app developers.

I have and was told that this might be an RCS issue... I also have the same problems w/ the Samsung messaging app.  I would accept it as a Textra issue if it were for that.

Thank you

I use Google Messages because it isn't reliant on carrier support for RCS to function.

Well, only one version of Samsung messages has RCS support, and only with one or two carriers. All carriers support Google's RCS if they suport RCS. RCS is a carrier feature. If you want reliable RCS functionality, you will have to use Google messages. That's the reality.

Update on this topic.  Fingers crossed, I believe that I may have resolved this issue. It was not a Textra issue as I was able to reproduce using the Samsung messaging app.  Definitely related to RCS.

Working with AT&T, we noticed that, under Google messages, setting, RCS, that my phone/number was not registering with the carrier to utilize RCS services (The status message just said trying). We tried to reprovision the phone, moving my number over to the eSIM (removing physical). RCS status still said "trying".  The tech had me install a 'carrier services' app from the Play store.  This also made no difference. I went back into the Play store and searched for the Google Messages app to see what options were available (deinstall/reinstall?) The only options available were to uninstall updates. I decided to give this a try.  As soon as this completed, several missing RCS messages came through.  Checking RCS settings, my number was showing as successfully registered.

I have restored Textra as my default messaging application (why this RCS issue affected it, I cannot understand). Cautiously optimistic that this resolves my issue.

Hopefully this helps anyone else that faces a similar issue.

Thanks all
