I've had my s24 Plus for about a year and a half now. I've never had any issues with it getting hot until about a couple of months ago. I notice the phone typically the top half of the screen gets so hot during very light use to the point where it's uncomfortable to even hold it. All I do on my phone is pretty much watching YouTube videos or going on other social media apps. I don't do any gaming or anything demanding. Whenever it gets hot it also starts to drain my battery super fast. The only thing I can do to temporarily fix it is by restarting the phone which makes the temperature go down but only for maybe a day and it's back to getting hot again. I've tried clearing partition cache and cache from my apps but none of that has helped. What's weird is that it doesn't always happen. Some days I could watch videos perfectly normally and other days it starts to get burning hot after 1 video. I'm not sure what could be causing this as I'm not using my phone any different from what I did last year. Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this sort of issue that can help.

Thanks

if you download good guardians from galaxy app store than download thermal guardians it will show you what apps are making your phone hot1754332350895.jpg

I have downloaded thermal guardian and basically the peaks only displayed YouTube as the cause but that's what I find weird because it kind of started out of nowhere. It never was a problem before and now it's constantly causing it to overheat

I've had it happen. Make sure to not put in on any comfort like a couch, bed, blanket, or pillow. The put in in front of a device that has a cooling function, then it will cool off in about 5-10 Minutes.

This issue has been going on since the betas for one ui 7 It happens 100% of the time when watching a YouTube video and leaving a comment. I can watch YouTube for 3 hours straight without any issues, as soon as I go to leave a comment on any video, I write the comment go back to watching the clip and the phone start heating up crazy. I restart the youtube app and all is good. It is like this with a few different apps since one ui 7 I have reached out to Sammy and google/ YouTube. Sammy just tell me to go to goggle and Google tells me to reach out to Sammy. Good luck, maybe we will have non overheating phones back with one ui 8. Attached screenshot shows the youtube app using so much cpu to make the phone overheat for no reason at all. Just watching a clip and commenting should not do that ever. We have 3 s24u in our household with all 3 doing the same thing. Its not the devices it is the OS and the apps goin grouge and its not getting fixed. Frustrating to say the least.1754402434607.jpg

I would like for some of you to try to recreate this issue. Just watch any YouTube clip lets say about 5 minutes long. After 2 min lave a comment in the comment section. Then just go back to watching the clip and tell me what the phone is doing after leaving the comment it will / should start heating up your phone if your device has this issue. Let's see what happens. Remember restarting the app gets rid of the overheating issue.

The moderators could definitely get the samsung support team to check this out and fix it, but it seems everybody just gives the clear cache response, which certainly doesn't fix this overheating issue.

The people always claiming (*cough* gaslighting) it MUST be either cache -or- user error regarding the charger or cord truly makes everything more irritating. I understand that, generally speaking, these are the go-to troubleshooting steps.

BUT considering there has been such an extreme increase with too many users globally reporting these same issues (+ other bugs) once a OneUI update has hit most-definitely points to this being a disastrous UI full of bugs Samsung / Android are overlooking, on top of the fact that they refuse to even acknowledge it, let alone address it, and simply allow the fanatic defenders to march in (w/an irritated & condescending attitude) and point to anything else and get up in arms about how many reports flood in yet they refuse to even consider the possibility that it IS what we're all saying. It's not just in Samsung forums, either, but everywhere. Nothing is getting fixed, temporary "solutions" roll back in a day or two, and Samsung just keeps tuning us out, dodging the issues, and steamrolling right over us with even more rushed UI updates. It's like they are so focused on the next steps and do not care about their customers. (This is comfort coming from a dedicated customer of decades, too.)

So when I saw you say this, it was such a relief.
