I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast.

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software.

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

I have noticed this after the one ui 8 update. Don't remember it happening after one ui 7.

I just updated my Galaxy S24 to the latest One UI 8 and the battery life has gotten ridiculously bad. I used to get around 7 hours of screen-on time without any issues.

Now I'm barely getting 4 hours of SOT and I've already tried all the usual fixes checked for background apps, cleared cache, put unused apps to sleep, turned off high refresh rate. Nothing’s helped so far.

Is anyone else also facing this after the update?

Galaxy phones have an adaptive battery feature that uses machine learning to optimize battery consumption based on your usage.

After a major software update, this feature resets and needs to relearn your usage patterns. You may notice diminished battery life for a week or so while this process takes place.

Personally, my S24+ battery life improved drastically from UI7 > UI8 *after the initial re-learning period.

Yes. After the update, my phone is nearly unusable.

- fast battery drain and warm battery

- extremely sluggish UI and frequent dialogs to quit unresponsive apps

- forgets my lock screen wallpaper occasionally. If I go to configure it, the phone suddenly remembers the previous setting and it works for a while. (I don't care about the wallpaper, but it's weird.)

Samsung, I'm heading back to Pixels if you don't fix this soon.

Battery life has been horrendous after the One UI 8 update. I cleared the cache and ran the Galaxy Booster app multiple times, but nothing helped. Any suggestions?

Hello ppl,

I have been experiencing a major battery drain and some heating issues with my new 20 days old Samsung s24 ultra device .

The battery draining around 7 to 9 percent in just half and hour which is not a good number .

I really need a solution to this . I have tried all the troubleshooting steps suggested by support as well as those present in the internet but no luck.

This really needs to be treated

I'm having a similar issue. I'm dreading that i may have to do a default but don't see what is causing this. Also noticed my galaxy buds keep disconnecting and reconnecting. Very strange!

I'm sorry, I don't see your issue.  It says your expected uptime remaining is 3 days 17 hours.  That seems like a respectable amount, and much more than I would have expected, considering that my A54 gets an expected 17 hours on a day when I do not use it much.

When you take your battery off the charger and start using it, there is an initial battery drain that may be more than expected, just as there is at various points during the day depending on what you are doing.  Your screen shot does not show which apps were in use during this "battery drain".  I know that if I take my phone off the charger and start flipping through Facebook or the Members app for a half hour, it will use about 15-20% battery life in that half hour, due to the screen on time and processor demands of those apps.  If I take if off the charger and do nothing the battery drain is still about 1-3%, since the phone is not actually idle when it's powered on.

I know you posted this a month ago, but I'm just seeing it now.  I hope your battery life has improved since you posted.  Your phone was 20 days old at the time, during the first month of ownership, the adaptive battery is still learning your usage patterns and setting itself up and  you are adding apps and tweaking settings, all of which interfere with the learning process, since they are not normal daily usage patterns.  You may have also had an update during those 20 days which interrupts/restarts the process.
