I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast.

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software.

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

This has been my experience as well within the first 24 hours. It'll be interesting to see if it lasts though. I had great battery life when I first got the S24 Ultra last year, but as updates came in the months following my battery life seemed to get worse

Just to update on my experience since my last post:

Initially the first few days my battery was great. Idle battery drain was super slow. I wiped the cache partition as many suggest helps alot, and gave the phone 2 weeks post One UI 7 install to settle and learn my usage habits. Even when not using the phone at all, my battery seems to drain about 1% per hour. Using the phone lightly (just responding to messages) drains more than that.

I'm getting the sense that even if this is a 'stable' version of One UI 7, that doesn't mean it's been optimized for devices other than the S25 series.

I would've liked Samsung to take more time with this to ensure battery didn't take a hit. Isn't better battery life supposed to be one of the 'benefits' of One ui 7?

Feels like planned obsolescence to me .

I thought I would provide a further update:

The May security patch seemed to fix my battery concerns. For the last week and a bit my battery life seemed to be roughly back to where it was on 6.1 so I had some hope....

After I updated my google play services it seems to have gone backwards again and continues to drain at 1% per hour even with no usage. I'm not a heavy user, let alone instagram or youtube user so it can't be these apps.

I've read online that there is supposedly a 1GB update coming for the s24 series, so maybe that will have the optimizations we all need and deserve. Here's to hoping.....again

Since I got my update this morning my battery is dying significantly. It would be on about 30% right now and it is on 15%. I've never been able to see it draining and I see it draining.

You got an update, it's like getting a new phone.  It will take a few days until it finishes updating everything and re-learning your usage patterns. Not to mention you are probably very busy playing with everything to find the new features and set everything up the way you want it.
