Removing AI sticker

After the recent Android update, there was an AI sticker icon on my keyboard that I can seem to remove/disable. (I don't want to use GBoard) I think I went through all the necessary settings to disable but to no avail. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

The AI stickers option can't be removed entirely, unfortunately. You can, however grab the icon and drag it all the way to the right so that it's out of view.

I have the same issue, with the addition that the AI icon is both greyed out (not clickable), but also has a red bubble next to it, which is also visible on the emoji button. Meaning there is constantly a red bubble alerting, but as I cannot click the ai icon, nore remove it, I cannot get rid of it. What to do?

You will have to open it in a viable text field. It will be greyed out in certain apps (like Members.) Try Messages.

From there, tap the plus. Scroll all the way to the right and tap "view all." Then view all the new styles. This should remove the indicator.

Thanks for the guide! I would prefer to not have to go through all those steps just to get rid of red bubble every time a new pack arrives in a function I don't even want to use in the first place. But again, thanks for tips!

thank you thank you thank you! what an absurd move by devs to hide it like that. would have gone crazy otherwise, bc i thought resetting keyboard would help.. glad i found your reply before

Agreed, this is a terrible design, especially with notification dot for no reason. Any recommendations on alternative keyboards?

Gboard is googles alternative! Seems ok.
