Galaxy S24Your T-Mobile box (router) can broadcast on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, which is very different from 5G cellular service. The terminology can be confusing.

Galaxy S24Have you tried resetting your router by unplugging it, waiting 60 seconds and plugging it back in? It sounds as if you have an unstable wi-fi connection. You also may have interference between your router and your devices. You may need a mesh network or wi-fi extender, depending on how far away and how many walls are between you and your router at any given time.
For most appliances, the 2.4 gHz band is preferred. Phones can elect to use whichever band is more stable. I guarantee you will not notice a difference in speed between the 2.4 gHz and 5gHz band for anything. I do find that the 5 gHz band is less stable and shorter range than the 2.4 gHz band (hence why it's preferred for appliances and smart devices). And, you should configure two networks and not combine them. Most smart devices (especially smart plugs) do not have the hardware to figure out which band to be on when the networks are combined.
If you continue to have issues, you will need to contact T-Mobile.
