Tonight Nashville had 3 emergencies and my phone displayed the alert, but played no sound. The phone is in Dnd, but the emergency alert app is in the bypass area.

How scary is it that I sleep through the first tornado alarm because your system didn't play an alert? Unacceptable.

And I just bought a emergency radio. If alarms work and then stop working on phones... Better to be safe and have something dedicated to it.

That's a good option. You might try some of the other things I suggested (or not).  Also, download the FEMA app, and let it through your DND as well, give it an annoying sound.  As long as FEMA is still operational it's giving appropriate and timely warnings.

Talking with people at work, it is not just Samsung, it is Pixel phones as well. Maybe it is a new Android OS issue.

It's not a new Android OS issue.  It's the way you have DND configured.

The only other thing I can suggest is to create a new mode with a separate instance of DND and use the same parameters (each instance of DND can have its own parameters) and see if that changes anything.  When you enable apps to come through DND, they should come through with the sound and volume that is originally set.  If setting a new mode does not help, I suggest wiping the phone's cache partition and see if that helps.

How to clear cache through Recovery Mode:

1. Power off your phone. Hold Power and vol up buttons until Samsung Logo appears

2. Let go of both buttons when you see the Samsung Logo appear on screen. There will be a delay while it enters recovery mode.

3. Use the volume buttons to navigate through recovery menu options and highlight โ€œWipe Cache Partition.โ€ Press power button to select this option. Confirm by navigating to the yes response and tapping the power button to select.

5 .When wiping cache partition is complete, "reboot system now" should be highlighted; press power key to select it. The phone will reboot as normal.

Can confirm Wireless Emergency Alerts are broken.  It's as simple as that.

The other day, on 5/15, there was a tornado warning in my area. Despite doing a Google or AI search, samsung phones are supposed to sound even in silent or do not disturb mode. I even adjusted that app to allow during do not disturb. The message came up, but there no sound. It's not an issue with the carriers it's likely to be software.
I plan on waiting until the s26 to be released to upgrade

I think they changed that last year (to sound in silent or DND mode), after some mistaken alert went out nationwide in the wee hours of the morning.  I believe people were given the option to turn off most alerts and for them not to come through DND.  The best I can suggest is to go to settings/safety and emergency/wireless emergency alerts and make sure "allow alerts" is turned on. After the alerts are turned on, make sure that the alerts for the categories you want is turned on.  For instance, You can turn off tests.  Go through the list and make sure the type of alert you need to get are turned on.  Also, make sure you configure all instances of DND (global DND, sleep mode DND, etc.) to allow the alerts through.  Even if they are *supposed* to get through if DND is on, letting it through, specifically, is insurance.
