New phone, no new updates

Hello!
I just upgraded to the Samsung s24 Ultra, from a s20 FE, a few days ago. Although the system visually looks different in some ways, I know it's not updated to the latest UI 7. My parents have the newest UI on their s21 line phones and it looks pretty cool, I'm wondering why doesn't my s24 Ultra not caught up yet? I checked my settings, the system says that my software is up to date.. even though it's at UI 6.1. Is there anything that can be done about this? The phone is unlocked.. I'm not sure what other info would be helpful. 
I would really appreciate advice😇

Is your phone unlocked or carrier version ? If carrier you may just need to wait a bit for the phone to catch up. If unlocked it should show up in a few days to update you can also check for the one UI 8 beta if it's unlocked

It's an unlocked version, I checked to see if I can get into the UI 8 beta, but I'm guessing it's full because it says that I'm unable to do it this time or something like that.

So it's a carrier phone. Where did you get the phone and have you ever changed carriers?

The most likely scenario is that you have one carrier's firmware installed but are using a different carrier for service. The phone will always look for an update to the installed firmware. If you are on a different carrier, the phone will never find installed carrier's firmware on a different network.

Oh how interesting 🤔 I bought this phone as refurbished from Backmarket. I made sure to get an unlocked version. I haven't switched carriers, always had tmobile. How should I go about this then?

@nyincognito The solution is to reflash the phone with your current carrier's firmware. Visit your carrier and ask them to do that.

The other solution is to temporarily install a SIM card from the original carrier. The SIM card does not have to have active service. Just install the card and download the firmware over Wifi.

Reflash? Or refresh? Also how would I find out the original carrier of the phone?
