When I review a video I've sent to someone they always look grainy and blurred. Any thoughts?

I'm old school and still use regular messages app. Don't trust Google but people have told me the RCS chat and other stuff is better now. Any opinion? And thank you for responding.

Yeah I feel you I use SMS/MMS too I would use RCS but there is no like simple API for it, and you can use RCS but its only on iPhone or Google Messages (or some other apps but rare and messy).

Yeah. I've never been a fan of anything Google but also don't like anything that makes you jump through hoops to use it. I'll stick with the old messages app and thanks again for responding and honest opinion. Have a blessed weekend

Your Samsung device's operating system is Android, which is a Google Product. Your phone requires a Google account and Google services to function.

In other words, you're already using Google products and services every time you use your phone.

RCS is the ONLY solution to the issue of poor media quality in messages. MMS has a hard limit on file size and compresses the file by substantially dropping the quality.

If you don't want to switch to Google Messages, that is your choice, but be aware that you are actively choosing to have a worse experience with your device.

Thank you for your response. Oddly I was just now looking at the 2 messages apps and pros/cons. I understand the difference now and your explanation was very cogent and timely. Thank you again.

You're very welcome. Samsung has made Google Messages the new default for their devices and they are sunsetting Samsung Messages. They are gradually removing features and support to encourage users to transition.

At some point, you will likely have to switch.

Thank you. Just enabled it and updated it. Will try and see. Understand Samsung will eventually make this the default.
