Hey everyone I'm having an issue with my Samsung S24 Ultra - I can't seem to set or change default apps (like browser, phone, messages, etc.). Every time I try, the option is either greyed out or doesn't save the change.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any idea how to fix it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Try to reset app preferences. Go to settings > apps and tap the 3 dots in the upper right. 1761773847991.jpg

Is this a work phone or other device with an organization administrator? Are there parental controls on the device?

No, it's my personal phone.

If you go to Settings > Security and Privacy > More security settings > Device admin apps, you should be able to see if there is an app preventing defaults from being changed

You may also check accessibility settings to see if there are any apps with additional device permissions

Only the Security folder is enabled

It is possible that secure folder may be interfering in some way. Have you tried disabling permissions for secure folder, if possible, or removing the apps in question from secure folder?

I can't do that.

And I try to change the default applications outside the security folder and not inside it
