Please fire the entire team who created and permitted the long press to change lock screen. Three out of four times I pull my phone out of my pocket, the screen shrinks, I say two or three swear words, I press done at the top right of the shrunken screen, and then the phone becomes usable. I still have no idea how to change the lock screen. I don't know why anyone would ever want to change the lock screen myself, but I assume if anyone ever wants to change their lock screen they can do it by going to settings and do it. Changing the lock screen strikes me as something you do once per year, or once during the life of your phone. So whoever thought of the idea of changing the lock screen by touching the phone for longer than a split second should just be publicly castigated and fired, as should anyone who approved of the feature, and the feature should be removed.

Remember why you guys did accidental touch protection? So, why are you working against that?

Long pressing the lock screen is an easy, quick and convenient way to change wallpapers, edit the lock screen apps and widgets and clock.  It has been this way for as long as I can remember, it's not a new feature. Yes, one can do it through settings, as well, but this makes it very quick and easy.  You ever hear of grabbing your phone by the sides?  How tight is your pocket, anyway, that you have to hold to the screen long enough to go into edit mode? You can turn on the AOD, which gives you an extra cover of protection against the accidental long press.  You can also put your phone in a holster instead of your pocket.

I love the long - press feature. I also keep my phone in my back pocket, and have never had this happen to me.

And, I'm thinking you guys who love this feature, because you need to change your lock screen five times a week, use the PIN or pattern or face recognition to get into your phones. I use the fingerprint sensor, so I press my thumb to my phone to unlock it, and POOF! I am inadvertently editing my lock screen. I'm just so glad I was able to turn that feature off.

No, I actually rarely change my lock screen.  It is just a convenient way to access the edit feature. Most of us don't manhandle our phones by grabbing it by the screen.  If you are entering edit mode by using the fingerprint scanner, you are pressing too hard on the scanner.  It only needs a brief, light touch; certainly not anything hard enough or long enough to trigger the edit mode.  Perhaps you need to learn how to properly use the biometric.  Of course, now you have discovered the toggle so it shouldn't be an issue for you any longer.

If you want to disable the "long press to change lock screen" feature on your Samsung Galaxy device, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Wallpaper and Style
  3. Tap on Lock Screen
  4. Look for the option Change wallpapers with a long press (or similar)
  5. Disable it

If you donā€™t see this option, your phone may not have this setting, and you may need to avoid long-pressing the lock screen or use a third-party lock screen customization tool.

Hope this helps! šŸ˜Š
