Galaxy AI translation not working in Google Messages App

I've noticed since the recent updates that galaxy AI translation isn't working on the Google messages app during text chats. It does work on profiles but that doesn't really help. 

All the options for Galaxy AI are turned on, the language pack is installed and personalization is on but it still doesn't work.

I've reinstalled the app, reinstalled the language packs, restarted the phone, restarted the Galaxy AI features but still nothing. Older versions of the app from around March still have the Chat Translation option in the AI menu button but anything updated doesn't have it.

I did send some feedback. I was wondering if someone had the issue but managed to reenable translation or fix the issue. I appreciate the response.

I would imagine that Google messages would use Gemini or Google translate for translation of messages. I don't know, as I have no need for translation in my texts, since everyone I text with speaks the same language.  I do use Google keyboard with has the Google translate plug in, so when I *did* need to communicate in a different language, I just tapped the button and wrote the text.
