If the whole folder disappeared, it may have been moved to a different home screen page. If not, you need to recreate it and add the apps back. Check to see how many pages you have and see if either an extra one was created or the folder found a spot on another page.

This has happened to a number of my folders. I don't have all the details of the contents of each one, and they are not displayed elsewhere, so recreating them is not an option.
I'm concerned about how/why it's happening in the first place. I'm also having document downloaded files disappear too. This is incredibly annoying 😤
Why is recreating them not an option? Even if you don't know all the apps you had in a particular folder, you must have had them in some kind of logical (for you) grouping. Just put back what you remember and add others as you come across something that should be in one. As to why it happened in the first place, that I cannot tell you. Have you cleared the cache partition from your phone after the update? Like the OP, did they get moved to another home page?
