When I long press a message I want to copy, I only get reaction options. I have tried pressing on just the bubble and not the text itself. Nothing works.
Are you using Google Messages? If so you can only copy the entire text of a message. After long pressing so a message is selected, go to the top of the screen. You will see an icon of two overlapping squares. Click that to copy the text.
The other option is to use AI select to circle and then select the text.

There are NO overlapping squares. Just a crying emoji in a balloon that says Create. If I click on it - I get a large selection of GIFs from my photo gallery.
