After I updated my phone I'm no longer able to search my contact by tags I had assigned the one time I needed it the most. This is stupid and really annoying. I have 3k contact and I took the time to categorized most of them by a rigorous system and Samsung did not bother keep the searchable tag option. Why add tag at all? Does someone have a solution? Thanks

Maybe i just never noticed it, but I don't recall ever seeing searchable tags in Samsung's Contacts app.
Samsung does have Groups that contacts can be sorted into. The update changed/moved it and it took me some time to find it again.
Just below your Favorites and Frequently Contacted, there should be a button for Groups. It's really easy to miss because it looks too much like all the actual contacts on that screen.
Tap on the Groups button and that will take you to a screen where you can manage the Groups and add contacts to them.
You can also add Groups directly to your contacts. Just tap the edit button at the bottom of the screen and tap the Groups button. You can choose an existing Group or add a new one.
I hope this helps you.

Thank you. Unfortunately, it seems like you have the previous UI version. That's what I was looking for and it is now gone. I couldn't locate the group "contact" option I'm on the phone with customer service. Will let you know it went and if there is a solution.

Hi I was able to resolve the problem with some help from Samsung. Actually, My contact are under my Gmail and that is the default dashboard view if you will for my phone contact menu. Basically, it's matter of going into settings and view the accounts I am using and switch from Gmail to Samsung acocunt which has my Gmail also. Then the Groups option comes up. Problem is when I switch to Samsung, I only see 4 contacts. I have to go into groups and then into the "unassigned contacts" suboption of the same groups menu to see all the rest of my contacts, not sure why but it's okay not messing with it to make it more complex for me. Samsung CS was about to move all of my contact from Gmail to Samsung and didn't know if that meant erasing or duplicate, which is why I checked to change the account and it worked. I then told them not to move anything otherwise I could mess up all I have going on. The reason why I chose to save my contacts under Google is that you have to sign in to your Gmail with any phone you buy. However, if I decide to go with Apple for example I can't bring my Samsung contact at least that easily and I know each of these companies think they are the best and don't like to make it easier for people to switch to either side and we pay for it with our time and sanity. At least Google it's simple for me and I have all of my contacts and photos and other data. I still transfer Samsung account to another Samsung phone for text data and settings data to be kept the same. Anyway, that's the update and I found a quick solution to it. I can export the group I chose to someone or to my laptop even.
