Hey everyone, just wanted to share my experience after installing the October security patch on my Galaxy S24.
I got the update a few days ago, and Iโve noticed a pretty big improvement in battery life. Iโm now getting around 7 hours of screen-on time going from 100% down to 15%.
Before this, when I first updated to One UI 8.0, my battery life tanked and I was barely getting 4 hours of SOT on the same usage pattern. Whatever Samsung did with this patch seems to have fixed the drain. Anyone else seeing better battery life after the October update?
Not at all. Still sucks. All this Gaslighting by the bots is frustrating as heck. The phone performance was one way before the update AND NOW IT'S ANOTHER!!!! ERGO THE UPDATE AND ONLY THE UPDATE IS TO BLAME. you're apps didn't change, your usage didn't change. They either did this for some reason they won't disclose (like battery fires over heating) or the simply have no clue and are simply hoping to wish it away and make us all nuts putting apps to sleep. 18 year Samsung user and this is the most divisive reaction to a company created issue I've ever seen.
I traded my s23u in s25u and as far as I am concerned it was a mistake. Battery life is fickle. Have set to 95%. Today it was at 30% in 3hrs. Just warm. Today.Yesterday charged to 95 and had to take out of my pocket it was so hot. I have a couple on Chinese hardware that don't get has hot as the phone. Phone was fine until last 2 updates. Followed all of the battery settings for max life. Today only email.
