I would like to use google maps while driving and having phone plugged in and using battery bypass as you while playing games but with google maps to save battery health. Using game booster+ I can set some apps to utilize this feature but not google maps. Is there any way to do that?

Sorry, this is not possible by any official method. The features you have mentioned are limited to gaming.

Officially, it's not, but I managed to get it to work for YouTube and Instagram, so why not Google Maps? I think it's the package name that's the problem. YouTube didn't work until some work that changed the package name. But sideloading Google Maps didn't help, so I'm looking for some kind of workaround.

All you need to do is enable maximum battery protection and select one of the available charge levels provided. The battery will be charged to the selected level and will then be bypassed while you are driving and using Google Maps. For the best battery longevity, select the 80% option.

Doesn't it just stop charging until battery drops a bit to start charging again?

Not really. But if it did, it's still preventing any measurable battery wear.

If you choose to swap over to Waze which is still by Google you can use Game Booster + to make your phone think Waze is a game. I tested it just now since you said you couldn't find maps, which I also could not see among the choices of apps.

Yeah that good idea. Just a bit annoying to setup new app but yeah.
