This morning my phone forced the One UI 7 update.  Since updating, I can no longer set my wallpaper. I have the wallpapers set to change depending on the mode. All that shows on my home screen is a purplish black wallpaper. I use GO Launcher Z as my default launcher and have not had any issues with prior updates. The odd thing is my wallpaper shows up if I am viewing the apps I have open but not if I am officially on the home screen. My lock screen wallpaper on the other hand is correct.

I have tried:

  • Wiping the cache partition
  • Clearing GO Launcher's cache
  • Restarting phone (multiple times)
  • Setting the wallpaper through the Themes section of the settings
  • Returning to the default Theme (in Themes section) and resetting my wallpaper after
  • Setting the wallpaper through the Wallpaper section of the settings
  • Setting the Wallpaper through GO Launcher

Nothing has worked so far.  I just want to be able see the wallpaper have set - not one One UI seems to be forcing me to have.

You can see the colors of the background I have set here but not on my home screen.

FOUND THE FIX!!!
To set the wallpaper you want :
1. Choose the wallpaper you want first, then click it, do not worry as it will only show up on the lock screen and not yet on the home page
2. Choose wallpaper again and pick the default live wallpaper, set is to be both lock screen and home page wallpaper, the NOTIFICATION will say "LOCK SCREEN SET"
3. Then the wallpaper that you chose BEFOREHAND WILL NOW BE YOUR HOMEPAGE WALLPAPER
4. Lastly pick another wallpaper and this time, just check change lockscreen to match your homepage wallpaper to your lockscreen.

HOPE THIS HELPS!

Maybe you can understand what you mean, but I can't! First you say click it. How do I click it on a phone? Do you mean select it, and then tap on done? Then you say choose wallpaper again and pick default live wallpaper? Do you mean the one that Samsung has chosen or the one that I had originally. I do not get any notification on either wallpaper apart from "Done" on my original wallpaper. As for the rest of your fix, it is just gobbledegook.

Please try again and write your fix for ordinary people.
