Fingerprint scanner worked perfectly fine last night. Updated over night and now fingerprints will not work. Cannot even add new fingerprints. Pretty livid that this expensive phone can't read fingerprints anymore. Tried all the basic troubleshooting options and nothing. DO NOT INSTALL THE NEW UPDATE

Anyone know how to actually fix the fingerprint scanner?

Mine still works fine. Maybe try to delete and rescan your fingerprint?

@nash69 Have you ran the Fingerprint recognition diagnostic in the Samsung Members app -> Support?

You will probably need to talk to Samsung Support and have the device evaluated.

That's wild because there's countless others with the same issue as of this morning

What "basic troubleshooting options" have you done? Have you manually cleared device cache in recovery?

1) Turn off your device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Side/Power button until you feel a vibration and the Samsung logo appears. Let go of the buttons.

3) You will now be in Android recovery. Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Wipe cache partition."

4) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

5) Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Yes."

6) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

7) "Reboot system now" will already be highlighted. Press the Side/Power button to execute.
