Since the Android 15 update, the do not disturb function in notifications isn't working properly. I have notifications turned off 10:30-7:00 for night time (sleeping). Now if I'm up b4 the 7 a.m. wake time I'll get notifications. Is there a fix?

Have you tried to see if it works in sleep mode?  Sleep mode has it's own iteration of do not disturb.  It works fine for me and I have the update.  You can configure the do not disturb instance in sleep mode the same way you have it in the global dnd.  The sleep mode dnd, by default, has no disturbances, so if you have notifications or calls you need to get through do not disturb, you will have to configure it.  Each instance of do not disturb in a mode is separate from any other so different modes can have different dnd configurations.  Sleep mode can also be configured to start/stop automatically at the time you specify.  I have never used the global do not disturb, because it's included in several modes that I use/created and it always works fine when those modes are activated.

I've had sleep mode setup for year's as I stated between 10:30-7:00 and got no notification sound even if I wake the phone up b4 7 a.m. Now I'll get notification sounds when I wake up the phone b4 7 a.m. I believe the do not disturb has different settings after the update, which I have used in the morning or early afternoon.

As I said, each instance of do not disturb can have different parameters.  Create a new mode that includes do not disturb and see if if exhibits the same behavior. Something may have changed for you, but nothing has changed for me and millions of others. There is nothing  in the update that should  have changed anything about do not disturb.  The only possible explanation might be that the mode is not correctly getting the time  correctly from your phone. try clearing the cache from the clock app.  Are you getting the notifications from a particular contact or app that you originally allowed through?  If so, make sure you eliminate them.  Are the notifications making a sound, or just appearing on your phone?  It is important to note that notifications will still happen, they just aren't supposed to disturb you.

I have seen a few random complaints about this on here, but not enough to make it feel like a trend.  Did you perform the recommended maintenance on the phone after the update?

Wait....If you wake up the phone (take it out of sleep mode) before 7 a.m.  You will start to get notifications.  That you are getting them now where you didn't get them before, is likely due to whichever app is sending the notification is sending it earlier.  Nothing in the update would have changed any dnd settings or the way dnd works.  If by "waking up the phone" you mean it's still in sleep mode/dnd, but you are using it, that's a different issue.  If a notification is coming through, it's because it's from an app or person you configured to let through.  If you are getting the notification, but no sound, dnd is still on.  Do not disturb does not stop notifications from appearing on your phone, it only stops them from making a sound.  Calls will go to voicemail and notifications will still happen.  So, are your notifications making a sound, or just showing up?

@userdIFRJCwycn I have use DND daily for a long time and haven't seen an issue like this. The only notifications/calls/etc. that can get through are the ones that I allow even with DND enabled. Can you post a screenshot of your DND settings?

I never use DND or sleep mode but if it were my phone I'd check these settings first. SETTINGS - APPS - VERTICAL ELLIPSIS (3 vertical dots) in the upper right corner - SPECIAL ACCESS - and I'd work down the list beginning with DO NOT DISTURB PERMISSION and scroll down the list and disable any you want to stop from receiving mobile/Wi-Fi data during DND mode. Next I'd check go into NOTIFICATION ACCESS and see if Modes/Routines is on so the mode/routine can see them and stop them or let em notify you. Finally I'd check the APPS THAT CAN ALWAYS USE DATA and if you've seen any notifications that are toggled On then disable it from having unlimited data access. Hopefully you find something within these settings that is the source of your issues.
FYI..
Do Not Disturb (DND): Primarily focuses on silencing notifications and calls. It allows you to control which notifications you receive and from whom (e.g., allowing calls from "favorites" or "repeated callers"). Your internet connection (cellular data and Wi-Fi) remains active in DND mode. You can still browse the web, use apps that require internet, etc., but you won't be constantly interrupted by notifications.
Airplane Mode: This mode disables all wireless communication, including cellular data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Its purpose is to prevent your device from interfering with sensitive electronic equipment, particularly on airplanes. When in airplane mode, you effectively have no internet connection unless you manually re-enable Wi-Fi (which some devices allow).
In summary, DND is about reducing distractions, while Airplane Mode is about completely cutting off wireless signals.
