Galaxy S23Text photos from iphone are changed to HEIC format. How do I get these texted photos to be jpeg again? Yes, I've check camera settings and no HEIC is not enabled.
These are not photos I've taken. They are texted photos from iphones. Started happening a couple months ago.

Galaxy S23iPhones mostly send photos in HEIC format instead of JPEG, and they stay as HEIC in Android. To avoid this, you can do the following:
Ask the sender to share photos via Email or WhatsApp, which automatically gets converted into JPEG.
You can also open the HEIC photo and click on three dots > save as > convert to JPEG.
And if you still get stuck, simply use any HEIC to JPG converter online.

Galaxy S23Thank you. I have asked the person who mostly sends me iphone images to please change her format from HEIC to Most Compatible but she refuses. Something changed though as she never had an issue sending me images and I'm not sure if it's on the Android or IOS side, or she just changed it herself without knowing it.
Anyways, when she texts me now, I open Google Messages on the Web and her attachment opens. At least I can see the document whatever it is, as opposed to the message on phone link to view it on my mobile device. I use a HEIC to JPG converter from there, and sometimes, I can actually just print it after I download it. I have changed the extension without issue as I know sometimes that can totally mess things up. Since this is just something between us on work matters, I don't bother her and just convert whatever I have to. Thank you for your response.

Galaxy S23You are absolutely right, actually, Apple has tightened how photos should be handled in iMessages in recent updates. So if your contact didn’t manually switch the formats, it will still send HEIC by default.
The smartest way to handle this situation is by using Google Messages on the Web and converting them all by yourself. But if it becomes too frequent, then you should either use an online tool or ask her to send it as an email attachment at least, which will keep the image quality intact.
