Is the device actually overheating, as in shutting itself off to protect itself, or is it just feeling warmer than usual? Your phone has built in overheating protection and the device will shut off if too high of a temp is detected. Snapdragon chips are powerful and produce quite a bit of heat, which can be concerning at first if you are coming from a less powerful device.

After a major update, additional background processes related to the update can temporarily cause the device to run hotter than usual.

☆ Follow Samsung’s Best Practices Guide

In particular, clearing device cache is an important practice in order to clean up junk files and keep things running smooth. This step resolves the vast majority of issues you'll encounter, especially after a major update.

See the guide here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/Best-Practices-After-an-Update/ba-p/3200871?src=Shar...

☆ Use Samsung’s Good Guardians

Download Good Guardians and run its various modules. These modules optimize performance and can identify unusual behavior.

Thermal Guardian can monitor your device temp and identify the cause of any excessive heating.

App Booster re-optimizes your apps. This should be run after an update.

Memory Guardian helps clear up device memory and boost performance.

If the device is actually overheating and consistently shuts itself off, you may consider visiting a certified Samsung repair center to fully diagnose the issue and have any required repairs completed by a certified technician.

Hot to the touch may feel disturbing, but it's really not a big deal unless it's too hot.  The phones, being small spaces, dissipate heat through the screen.  The screen itself also generates heat, so the longer you have your screen on, the hotter  it's going to feel.  If it gets uncomfortably hot, just give the screen  a rest by turning it off and putting down the phone.  Environmental factors can also play a part - if you  have the screen on outdoors on a hot day, it doesn't get much opportunity to get rid of the heat.  As @CEParsons said, Good Guardians is the best way to keep track of your phone's core heat - which is the only heat that really counts.

Thank you for the info. I don't have any issues with my new galaxy s25 ultra but I'll still use these, that you mentioned to keep it in top shape.

Good idea. The tips I shared are great to do for regular maintenance, not just when issues arise.
