Galaxy S23I might have to switch to Apple, even though I'd rather not. I am that upset with android/Samsung. Google is a plague. I miss when phones were unique and functioned like.... phones.
Thank you for the help, and for listening to my woes (again).

Galaxy S23I currently have an A54, as I may have mentioned in your earlier post. It is 6.25" (and that's with the case on, which I figure adds 1/8")I have the Android 15 update and, if there's AI on this phone, it's unknown to me (except in the camera app for things like photo editing), or not active in any way. I do not use any of the assistants, as much on principle, as that I have no need to do so. I use routines to automate some processes and make others easier.
Nokia still makes some 4G feature phones, as well as 5G smart phones (although the smart phones may not meet your size requirements), has headphone jacks, as well as SD card support.
I do not think you will be able to completely escape AI no matter what brand you buy - all manufacturers are moving forward with it, it would just be a matter to what extent and if you can ignore/disable it.

Galaxy S23A54 at least has an SD card slot and good camera specs though. I'll have to check the local bestbuy (again) because I feel like that and the newer A series have the AI on it when I looked.
I know I won't be able to completely avoid the AI, but I still think phones should come with the option of "do you want this feature? Then download it separately" instead of "here's the feature you don't want, that still runs in the background even when you toggle it off" ๐ฅฒ

Galaxy S23Well, if it's any consolation, I am not quite sure they actually run in the background even if not triggered. However, even if it does, my understanding is that the initial introduction is a "taste" and they will start charging for certain AI features after a while.
As I said, the A series has very limited AI features, and none automated, as they are budget phones and will not get "premium" features.

Galaxy S23I'll look further into the A series. I don't think it's what I'm looking for, but we'll see!

Galaxy S23I don't trust it either. As time goes by, I trust the electronic "improvements" less and less - even more so, the people who create them and the manufacturers that implement them. Perhaps in later updates when they start charging for the features, they will remove them entirely from the phones. They are included now and free to get people dependent on them, or at least find them useful enough to want to pay for.
