With the new update not much has changed kinda disappointing so many articles on it saying how good it was the only thing I noticed was the weather had changed now there alot of talk about 8.5 new design well we'll see
UI8 was focused on positive, incremental changes and performance improvements. While tech enthusiasts want rapid, radical changes/improvements, many average users are alienated when this happens. There was an intense response to UI7 from users who were not expecting substantial changes to their devices.
Samsung is bringing positive change. As you mentioned, UI8.5 is shaping up to be both beautiful and customizable. Samsung is wise to consider ALL users, not just the tech savvy, and continue to move slowly in a positive direction.
Sometimes the changes only make things more stable and are not cosmetic. Most changes in most updates you won't see, but may feel in performance. There are not always new features.
