Navigation Bar used to be able to disappear and bring it back up, bring that feature back!

Prior to the update that did more harm than good, the navigation bar used to disappear after a few seconds, allowing me to access things along the bottom of app screens. Tapping the screen would bring the bar back up so I could navigate the phone. Post update, the bar doesn't disappear, and I cannot fully use some apps (app's menu is at the bottom of the screen, visible under the navigation bar, but untouchable).

Can I change that back (no, I don't want swipe gestures. I want buttons on a bar that will disappear until needed again) or is this yet ANOTHER way Samsung us over with a garbage update?

Ugh. It's so annoying and one of the apps I use often that has this issue doesn't rotate to landscape. I have struggle to get just the tiny little top of the button peeking up or temporarily remove the navigation bar and then put it back.

Its happening to me only in some apps. If Im using those apps I go to Settings, Display & then Navigation Bar & change the setting to "Swipe Gestures" then change it back when Im done. Its very annoying but it allows me to easily use the apps where the navigation bar was preventing me from being able to properly use the app. Its unbelievable that they haven't given us a real way to fix this. Before the update you could tap your screen to make it disappear. Anyway, I hope this helps you until they decide to fix it.

You may be able to automate the process of changing to gestures and back again by creating a routine that incorporates a touch macro.  Download Good Lock and Routines+.  Then create a routine for when you open the problem apps, then your touch macro runs.  You would select your apps and set up the touch macro, by going through the motions you are currently doing manually, then set it and let routine sit quietly in the background until it's called up.

Did that and the little dot did make navigation bar dissappear. But the little dot disappeared with it so had to restart phone because I couldn't get out of the app. Ive always had samsung phones. Why make the main simple thing so difficult. I dont want to have to spend all the time relearning something that might be easy to fix if you find it. But in reality it should be samsungs responsibility to at least send directions rather than just download this app. Ill be looking into iPhone today. It didnt work and its just a pain in the **bleep** when all apps have there navigation at the bottom too. Way it was worked fine. Why didnt they just put the option to turn it back to normal way in settings. I give up on it.

When the navigation bar disappears after using it, the way to bring the nav bar back up is as it always was, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.  Then, you can either choose to keep the navigation bar locked by tapping the button again, or keep it hidden.  Regardless of whether you choose to keep it hidden, it will remain locked in place on the home screen, but slide down when you are in apps.

I'm on an S22 and I have the same issue.

Funny thing, I didn't even do an update and mine started today. Navigation bar buttons and permanently there when they used to disappear.

I agree. PLEASE allow us to hide the navigation bar again! (not force swipe buttons or another app just to fix this disaster)

Thank you!
