Why would my S23 Ultra say that it doesn't support Google Assistant?

Google app > tap on your icon top right > settings > Google Assistant > general settings

see if you need to toggle it on. otherwise, I've never heard of Assistant being incompatible with an Android phone. makes me think it might be a bug issue If you're still having issues submit an error report (https://www.samsung.com/za/support/mobile-devices/how-to-report-error-using-samsung-members-applicat...

strange...that makes no sense. is Google Assistant enabled on your device? (check in settings in the Google app)

How do I do that? I went to settings; google; did update. Downloaded google assistant again after uninstall and it still said it's not supported on this device

don't know, at all, that's what the OP is seeing. however, with Google on her Samsung phone, Assistant is available (in theory) straight up. not incompatible.

perhaps I'm confused, but Assistant (Google) is already available on her device because it's an Android phone. there's no downloading to do. either activate it, or deactivate it.

That I am not sure, just replying about the not supported part, they said they uninstalled it and tried to reinstall
