Circle to search not working like it used to

I was quite satisfied with One UI 6, but after updating to One Ul 8, I noticed that the Circle .to Search feature no longer lets me copy text Could you please tell me if there's a way to fix or restore this function

The function you describe is still present. See attached screenshot. Make sure your Google app is up to date.

You can also just tap on the word and you get the old way of selecting without clicking anything extra

You dont have to click select text you can just tap on the first word you want to start selecting.
