My husband and I both have Galaxy 23 phones and we have been using Bitdefender for a while.  The web protection keeps turning off and bitdefender support says it has to do with battery optimization and background processes. We have made all the changes that we could find on line and those offered by support.  They say that the problem is due to Android operating system and Samsung is worse than some others.

Is anyone else having this issue? If so, any suggestions. If not, what security apps are using?

Thanjs

That's one of the changes I made. I would think it was just me but my husband's phone does the same thing. Thanks for the suggestion

I don't use Bit Defender, I use MalwareBytes premium on all my devices (phone and computers) and have never had a single issue. I do, however, exclude it from battery optimization because it requested it.  To be effective an anti-malware program needs to always have background access.

We are still having trouble with Bitdefender.  The notification at the top of the phone shows Bitdefender is running; however, if you open Bitdefender, you are greeted with a message that web protection is turned off. Since this was the main reason that we purchased the security, it is very concerning.  We have made all the suggested changes to the battery function, etc., but it hasn't helped.  Bitdefender blamed it on Samsung phones.  Sometimes this happens multiple times a day, and then it will skip a day or two and run correctly.

This is an issue you have to take up with Bit Defender's developers.  The "about" settings in the app should give you contact/help information.  Is there, perhaps, a setting within BD that you need to turn on? Bit Defender may blame it on Samsung phones, but it is their responsibility to make it work on Samsung phones, not Samsung's responsibility to make Bit Defender work on it's phones.  I would either ask for a refund, and/or not renew your subscription and switch to Malwarebytes.  I have not had a single problem on any device or operating system with it.  I have it on my Windows computers as well as my phone (you get 3 devices for the price of the subscription - less than $40/yr), and I've used it for at least 10 years. The free version works very well as well so you don't even have to buy it unless you want the advanced features the premium edition offers.  The basic version is free forever, not a trial period where it keeps nagging you to go premium.

Thanks. I'm considering not renewing. There are a lot of features that are great but if the main one doesn't work on the phone it's a huge issue.
