Visual voicemail is not working, no solution from Samsung or AT&T

Visual voice mail is not working. I used it in the past but, few months after purchasing s22 ultra it stopped working. I can't find solution I installed, uninstalled cleared cache, etc. I talked to Att, nothing works

I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.  This is what worked for me.  Go to:

1. Settings > Connections > Data usage > Allowed networks for apps > Scroll to Visual Voicemail and make sure Mobile data preferred is checked.

After that, my Visual Voicemail was updated and works just fine.   Turned out I had both Mobile data or Wi-Fi checked. 

I hope this can help others and saves you from buying a new phone or switching brands.

This solution worked for my S23 Ultra and I have been attempting to resolve for a long time.

I've tried this and clearing data and setting up multiple times. Still the app says I have no voicemail. But there are messages when I call voicemail. This app is garbage! Been non- functioning since August!!

I have tried everything here to no avail. It's my mother in law's Galaxy A51. I should not this was originally a Verizon phone, but we switched eventually to Optimum, so it has a different Sim card. I get the error from Visual Voicemail, and then this weird text message right after. I again, I have tried every single thing listed here, any other thoughts? spM8f6T3xI.jpgLnhK5ZnMT9.jpg

ME TOO. It's Jan 24, 2026 and I just spent 2 hours on chat with ATT and they came to no solution other than they would "open a ticket". I have the ATT Samsung S25 Ultra.
