Case is off, rebooted multiple times, ran diagnostics, updated to latest one UI, checked settings to see if the mapping is correct.

Noticed is happens when i put my phone in a tighter pants pocket, buttons will work again after some time usually a day or 2, and then it happens again.

Also is there a way to turn my screen off via touch screen UI if I cant fix this? I cant seem to find a way to get to my lock screen without the physical button.

Ran diagnotics, rebooted several times, checked button mapping, tried woth case on and off none of the 3 side buttons volume up and down and power are functioning.

This has happened several tines with the buttons coming back to life after a day or 2, usually seems to happen when its in a tight pocket for a while.

Sorry if this is a duplicate post but i cant seem to find the original I posted.

For hardware related issues, it is recommended to visit a certified Samsung repair center.

Do you have a case on the phone? If yes, try taking the case off.

They are attached to the main board via a VERY small ribbon cable. Assuming you don't have any kind of service plan for it, (or it's stupidly expensive to use)You could probably repair it yourself if you look up a video on it's disassembly . I wouldn't recommend it unless you're already comfortable doing that kind of stuff. But basically it sounds like it has a bad connection. Hopefully it's just loose and not damaged. It's really not too difficult to get to it. A local repair shop would likely have it fixed the same day. GL

Something along the lines of macroDroid might be able to "emulate" pressing the side button using a number of different options as the "trigger" to execute the Macro.

A BT mouse/keyboard/controller also might work, but not exactly super convenient.

There's also Vysor to control the phone via cabling to a laptop. But I can't remember if it has hardware access or just the screen.

So it's robably not a solution for your current problem. But, keep it in mind in case the screen ever goes out. Fyi there's an "allow USB debugging" dialog box that has to get tapped the 1st time it's connected to any specific device & dev options need to be setup for USB debugging obviously...which are both hard to do if it wasn't setup BEFORE cracking the screen (although a BT keyboard can work to blindly check it)... just an extra tip cuz who hasn't cracked a screen lol
