On 5/26, my S22 Ultra suddenly disconnected from the network. Even though it showed bars and 5G, I was unable to make calls. Occasionally, it showed "no service" at the top and a notification that "your phone's not on a registered network, so you can only make emergency calls." After a Google search, I tried:

1. Phone restart
2. Airplane mode off and on
3. Software is up to date
4. Removed SIM, wiped down, reinserted
5. Another SIM
6. Reset network settings
7. Toggled SIM on & off
8. Factory reset

Then:
9. AT&T, 2 different stores over 3 visits - every time I was in the store, it connected. But it clearly was not a network issue, so they could only offer replacement by insurance or trade in
10. Geek Squad - offered replacement, same as AT&T
11. uBreakiFix - offered to replace parts, but stated 70% of the time, it is a software error, and the phone must be replaced anyway.

I can't find any information on Samsung recognizing the issue, which seems to be quite widespread over the past year & including S23 Ultra, and offering replacement. I am out of warranty, and my extended warranty with All State has expired.

Are we going to get a class action lawsuit? Sign me up.

Yeah that's exactly what happened to me they literally had to open my account at T-Mobile and reset my whole account to an esim because my actual SIM got messed up after that

Seems to be intermittent now with about 75% of the time not registered and 25% registered and getting a 5G signal. And it is not random, the 5G connectivity is in the same spots consistently leading me to think my carrier towers are in the area where it works. Super frustrating but the only options are to send in the phone to Samsung or bring it 20 miles away to a Samsung store and leave it there. Not very helpful at all.

And the worst part is, there's no decent promotions to even get a new phone so I would basically be paying full price.

My phone is doing the same thing and it is a samsung galaxy ultra 22. I did all the trouble shooting and even switched carriers but nothing work. Samsung is aware of this issue and clearly it is the phone which is over a thousand dollars and shouldnt be having these problems. Samsung needs to fix this issue or reimburse us.

I didn't have any issues with my Galaxy S22 Ultra until the update to Android version 15 this past Friday morning.  Tried all the usual troubleshooting talked about thru this thread before I found this thread.  I called Spectrum tech support and they confirmed that my issues started that Friday morning (when I updated my phone).  Basically stated the credentials were dropping like there was an issue with the phone accepting the sim card.  Stated they agreed that it was probably something with the update and I could possibly call Samsung to roll back the upgrade.  Stated it could be the sim card and to try replacing that.  Drove 45 minutes to Spectrum and tried 2 separate SIM cards with no luck.  Said the only thing they could do from that point was sell me a new phone or give me Samsung support number.

Called Samsung and they don't believe it is the upgrade and want me to go to an authorized Samsung Service Center.  Stated they don't have any way to roll back the upgrade.  Also if I factory reset my phone it would update before setting up the phone.  Told me about a service center another 20 minutes further away than I was at the time, and would probably be closed before I got there.  Looked at Samsung's website to see if there was anything closer, but it doesn't show any locations.  Tech on the phone told me they are having issues with their website.

So, looking for any updates as well.  I'm just working with cell signal that is very unreliable.  Have an old phone at home that I will try to use until I can get anything else to try or get to one of these Samsung service locations.  Really not looking to buy another $1K+ dollar phone at this point.

I have the same problem with my S22 Ultra. The update that Samsung put out has made my phone along with other people's phones not use data. I have reset the network settings still doing the same thing. I found that it should be fixed by the middle of 2025. I think Samsung should send everyone with this issue a coupon for a free accessory item of our choice. I've been with Samsung since the day they made their first phone stand up Samsung.

So updated my phone. Worked fine for a few days then I suddenly seen emergency calls only. Tried force reset, tried safe mode clear cache. Nothing helped. Turn on wifi and it pickups the network carrier and works fine.

Tried the sim card in another phone works perfectly fine. Tried another sim card from my husbands number with a different carrier and it worked fine without wifi on.

So my sim card with my carrier isn't working on my phone. The sim isn't fault. The phones antenna is fine as I mentioned different with a different carrier worked fine.

I cant use my phone with my carrier unless wifi is turned on. I tried manually selecting the carrier but fails to connect. What on earth is happening I cant figure this out. Please help.

Go to your carrier and have an esim installed. That might help
