Galaxy S22I’m honestly at my wits’ end with this update. Ever since I installed One UI 8 on my S22 Ultra (Canada), both Samsung Gallery and Smart Switch have completely stopped working and nothing I’ve tried has fixed it.
The Gallery app crashes the second I open it, even in Safe Mode. I’ve cleared cache and data, wiped cache partition, rebooted multiple times, and nothing changes. The “Repair apps” option doesn’t exist in recovery mode, and both “Disable” and “Uninstall updates” are greyed out. When I check the Galaxy Store, it says “This app isn’t compatible with your device anymore.”
To make things worse, Smart Switch also won’t load it just freezes on startup and OneDrive sync inside Gallery doesn’t work either. That means I can’t even back up my data. Basically, my phone is stuck: I can’t use Gallery, can’t back up to Samsung Cloud, and can’t transfer data out.
I really don’t want to factory reset a $1,600 phone just because Samsung’s own apps aren’t compatible with their new firmware. It’s honestly disappointing.
Is anyone else in Canada seeing this after updating to One UI 8? Or has anyone found a workaround? I’d appreciate hearing if a patch is on the way, because at this point my phone feels unusable.
Really frustrated with Samsung!

Galaxy S22What does the price of the phone have to do with whether or not you reset it? Sometimes updates go awry because of other apps a user has on their phone, the level of maintenance the user regularly performs, among other things. The only way to fix certain errors is to reset the phone after making a complete backup of your important stuff. Samsung provides temporary cloud storage for just this purpose in addition to the nightly automatic backups. When you reset your phone, you get a clean system. Restoring your backup should not give you the same errors.

Galaxy S22this does not work if Smart Switch does not load, nor does one drive.

Galaxy S22What does not work, temporary cloud storage? They make flash drives for this purpose as well. You phone has an automatic nightly backup, so all your apps, settings, photos, music and messages are backed up at all times. You only need the flash drive or other cloud storage to save any personal data not contained in the automatic backups, such as things you downloaded. You can see a list of what gets backed up by going to settings, Samsung account, Samsung Cloud, backup. Smart switch is not necessary to back up your personal stuff, as you can do that by attaching your flash drive or computer and copying files via the file manager. If you have no personal items important enough to copy, then just reset your phone and restore the automatic backup. It appears the only way to fix the issues you are having is with a reset.
Once you reset your phone, your issues should resolve, as whatever is interfering with proper operation should have resolved.

Galaxy S22My problems is that Apps such outlook would not work when I am at home regardless I use wifi or data. As soon as I travelled a few of miles away from home, everything works fine. The problem started about a week ago.
