I have a S22+. Frequently, when I receive a group text, my reply is not appended to the group text. Instead, it is sent as separate, new thread to the group. Very irritating as my comments are not in the flow of the original thread! Don't know if it makes any difference, but I suspect the majority of the groups are Apple users, not Android. Is there any work-around for this issue?
I think I've figured it out - this is only a problem when I access my phone and text through the "Phone Link" on my Windows 11 PC. If I reply to a group text directly on the S22+, it appends my text to the group text and doesn't send an independent group text. So, obviously, this is a bug in Phone Link and my S22+ stands Not Guilty as charged! LOL! To confirm this, I did a little more research and others have experienced the same problem with Phone Link.
Which messaging app are you using? In any case, go to the settings and make sure that the MMS settings are set to "group text" not "mass text". Group text keeps all messages sent to multiple people as a group, and mass text lets you send the same message to multiple people have individual responses go only to you.
