Since updating to One UI 7, I’ve noticed that Samsung has replaced the previous charging display with a large, pill-shaped animation that offers no useful information. The old display showed battery percentage and estimated time until full — now it’s just a glowing bar with no clear function, and no way to remove or change it.

I’ve turned off:

Always On Display

Charging Info

Edge Lighting

Brief Pop-up settings

Charging sounds/vibration

...yet the animation still appears every time I plug my phone in, even when the screen is off. There’s no toggle to disable this visual, no way to revert to the old version, and even Good Lock (LockStar) currently doesn’t allow removing it.

This feels more like a branding effect than a feature — and it takes away choice from the user.

Request:
Please give us the option to:

1. Disable the charging animation entirely

2. Restore the battery percentage + estimated time display

3. Customize the look or behavior via Good Lock or system settings

I’m not asking for much — just a small degree of control over something that happens multiple times a day. The previous version was perfectly fine, and this change feels unnecessary and intrusive.

Thank you.

That animation is hard-coded and cannot be changed. You can submit feedback to Samsung by following the steps listed here:

Just letting you know that the only way to communicate your request to developers is by submitting feedback through the Members app.

I do not know what you are looking at but, yes, the charging animation has changed, but it's only a brief visual on the screen when you plug in the charger - it lets you know it's actually connected and charging.  Then, it goes away on the AOD.  While my phone is on the charger, I see the text that shows charging percentage, the lightening bolt and how much longer there is to go for the charge.  Yes, I am on Android 15/OneUI7.0. Forgive the reflection, I had to use my other phone to photograph my current phone.  On the lock screen and home screens there is no animation (animation means movement), but just the graphic of the new battery icon.  No, it does not show how much longer it will take to charge (that information can be found on the notification card on the pull down), but it does show the current battery percentage.  The shape is not going to change,  only your attitude toward it should. If you don't like the battery graphic, choose a battery widget for your lock screen/home screen/AOD.  @Robin621k  has found an excellent one.  It's only a graphic, not critical to anything. Your life will not be affected by the new shape.  As @Mujibar suggested, announce your dissatisfaction through the feedback area.

Im using an s22 ultra and the now bar glitches upon the bottom of my screen, i dont know how it is for foldable phones or the newer Ultra phones compared to mine but since the change of the circle that im use to having appear then disappear whilst leaving behind those numbers now changes constantly around the lower half of my screen. it feels a lot like a formatting issue that was left unchanged to adapt to the curved screen that my phone has.

I appreciate your response, and realise that I possibly should have emphasized that my device is an Ultra with a much larger display than the normal s22 phones. Although it did help to note that the normal S22 has a brighter AOD for the battery graphic than mine does.

Can I ask what the Now bar has to do with the battery animation or graphic?  I see nothing in the Now bar settings to add the battery indicator.

When my phone plugs in, the now bar appears along with the graphic that says the battery % and estimated time, settings for either of these arent available for changing or disabling. if disabling everything, the now bar appears and fades away normally but gets, im assuming a word "agitated" when other icons appears with the now bar. it shifts in randomized uncoordinated positions around the area where it would normally appear and takes the entirety of the screen that is customizable with it. The finger print sensor position is uneffected by this but with the height of the now bar and the included graphic of the percentage numbers above the icon it has a chance to appear overlapping the fingerprint sensor as its the only icon independently structured to the homescreen. I hope this makes sense, its difficult to explain how it makes the clock and battery percentage thats available to view when the screen is off moves with whatever updates the screen.
