One UI 8 ABSOLUTE LUNACY

Okay, sooo...the Android 16+One UI 8 update on my S22 Ultra is pretty cool, but there's an extremely glaring and massively irritating quirk: whenever a notification pops up, if you're currently doing anything else involving the screen (ex.: typing) - *LITERALLY ANYTHING AT ALL* - it somehow immediately forces the drop-down menu to show up, meaning you could very well accidentally hit a notification. And as you can guess, that can very easily screw up whatever you're doing!! This is especially grating when it happens as you're trying to comment on a YouTube video or a Facebook Reel or anything of the sort, and it ALMOST happened a moment ago as I was trying to type for this post!!

So I have three questions here:
1. Has this happened to anyone else on One UI 8 (especially S22/S22+/S22 Ultra users)?
2. Why does this even happen in the first place?
3. Is there any way to put a stop to this foolishness??

It sounds as if you have the floating notifications set as smart pop-up view (the update may have changed settings), which will pop up  a panel over whatever you are doing.  You can turn it off or choose bubbles.  Settings/notifications/advanced settings/floating notifications - tap and select.  Also, check your notification pop up style to choose brief instead of detailed - it will give you a smaller window.

Just checked, and it's already set to bubbles. I did go and change the style to brief, so hopefully that helps.

Try to get a screen shot if it happens again.  If we can see what's happening, we can better understand what you are seeing.

If, on the other hand, you mean that once you get a notification, somehow the notification shade is opening itself up, that's a serious glitch.  After your update did you clear the phone's cache partition?  You should do that now, in case there's some leftover temp files hanging around crossing wires.
