So the new "record your call" button cannot be disabled and I went through all of the tech support too but to no avail. My ear, which is not overly large or fleshy, keeps activating the button. Samsung's remedy is to use bluetooth devices instead. But I figured out a work-around. It does not work 100% of the time but it has reduced the frequency of inadvertent activations. No need to thank me but please feel free to share.S22 Ultra.jpg

Interesting. I have never accidentally initiated call recording since the feature was added.

Do you have accidental touch protection turned on? If you do, is it possible that the screen protector or case you are using is preventing the proximity sensor from properly detecting when the phone is up to your ear?1761079465915.jpg

It should not be possible to accidentally press on screen buttons while the phone is up to your ear if the proximity sensor is working properly. Your phone screen is supposed to turn off when you put it up to your ear.

The most common thing that interferes with this is screen protectors. Matte or privacy screen protectors in particular have a higher likelihood of causing proximity sensor interference, though any protector that lacks a cutout could potentially cause this.

While I understand you may not want to, you may try removing these kinds of accessories if they are currently applied to your phone to see if they are what is interfering with the proximity sensor and preventing it from working properly.

If you are able to determine that the accessories are not the cause and the sensor is simply not registering that you are putting it up to your ear, you may consider visiting a certified Samsung repair center to diagnose the issue and determine if there are any necessary repairs.

I have no screen protector on my phone. And my calls to Samsung says I am stuck with the button but would take your suggestion and stop by a repair center except the nearest one is 20 miles away. Even here in L.A.

Just go back to your homescreen while talking

So when I answer the phone, I have to swipe to answer the call and then remember to go to the home screen? Something I have never had to do since phones came out? How about making the button optional? Who gets to control my phone? I thought it was me.

I get that and sorry if I came across any bad way. It was a suggestion and I appreciate that. Samsung has me (and a lot of others if you look at the message boards) in a snit over this. Yes, first world problem.
