My motherboard failed recently on my S22U and was told by ubreakifix that it would be $799 to repair. This shouldn't be happening on a flagship after only 3 years. It seems like many people have the same issue. I had the same issues as many where it was stuck in a boot loop and would only respond if it was in a freezer. Even in a freezer I could only manage a few minutes. We need to get free repairs for compensation for these expensive phones.

Like anything warranty ends and your paying for repairs not sure where you got free repairs theory

Because a mother board failure at 3 years is unreasonable and I think the company has an obligation to make it right.

Nope, no obligation on the manufacturer's part after the warranty period ends.  As stated above, no one knows how you handled/mishandled your device.  Not everything is a manufacturer's defect, sometimes things just break.

People pay $1500 - $2000 plus on a flagship phone, but don't pay $8.99 a month for insurance. Why?

Check your home owners or rental insurance policy and see it's covered under that.

Best of luck.

I don't buy the insurance personally because its $19 a month for this phone. With a case and screen protector I've never had any physical damage. I didn't count on compenent failure.

You need to shop around. I have an s23 Ultra 512GB and only pay $8.99 a month with a $250 deductible. If the insurance company does not have your model in stock, then they provide you with a current equivalent phone, so an s25 Ultra in my case.

Just looked up square trade and that one is $8.99 a month. Might be worth it these days as expensive as phones are now.

I usually get my insurance through my carrier as they usually have a good rate for being one of their customers, so check with them first. Unless, of course, that's the $19 a month plan that you meantioned.

This, unfortunately, doesn't help you with your current situation. Sorry.
