Does anyone have any idea when Google is going to roll out the update for Google messages that allows you to use a wallpaper background from your gallery instead of those nasty pre selected color bubbles for a chat? I thought i heard they were going to release something to that effect early 2026, seeing as how the need to compete with A**ple and they are already doing this.

I have also not heard any kind of rumors.

iMessage has certain features that are not currently possible on Google messages because the two products are fundamentally different.

iMessage is essentially an instant messaging service like Facebook messenger or Whatsapp. You will notice that on those apps you can change conversation backgrounds for everyone to see, just as you can on iMessage.

You will also notice that those iMessage features are not available when texting non-iphones.

That is because those features you feel are more customizable are web-based rather than carrier based.

Personally, I find the idea of manufacturer-exclusive messaging platforms regressive and anti-competitive. Interoperability is preferable to exclusivity when it comes to communication.

If you absolutely require custom backgrounds for SMS, there are third party apps that accomplish this, but be prepared for an inferior messaging experience as RCS will not be available.

All i know is that Google has something up their sleeve to be able to personalize your chatting experience 🤞🏼.. we shall see.

Off topic but can someone be in my google messages without me knowing. Ive checked devices and where im signed in and all that but weird things happen. My contact names change, any photos sent to me are sent to another number and vise versa. Like its just weird. My x bf used to hack my phone alot
He also deleted a lot of important videos and photos so I couldnt show them to the cops (he was abusive) he did the same to my.laptop and my even my clouds. I dont think abyone would believe me without those videos. He also change the code to my phone but not before changing the email account on it so rendering the phone useless to me. There's abuse evidence on there too. He shared nudes of me he took and posted them to his stories. Really a terrible guy. But would any of yall know if I have any fixable issues? Ive downloaded recova for my laptop its found a couple things but not all of em. Thanks yall and hope yalls new year is fantastic!
