App search gone from screen top when I tap 3 vertical lines at lower left

It was handy to use. Recent update took it away.

It's not a bar, it's a magnifying glass on the upper right - next to the dot menu.  Tapping the magnifying glass opens the search field, in the middle of the screen

I do not have any magnifying glass. 🤔🤷‍♂️

In order to get the magnifying glass/search bar, you have to download Good Lock/HomeUp, turn it on and go to the task changer settings and turn it on.  In the task changer settings, there is a slider to show the search bar.  Turn it on.

Just open your app drawer by swiping up, it's just as fast.

From where do I swipe up? Even in this forum, if I swipe up there's nothing that happens. No idea what "app drawer" is.

On your homescreen, when you swipe up from anywhere on the screen you should be in your app drawer?

Yes. That's an extra step to go to home screen first. Yeah, not terrible but it was so simple to just tap the open apps button on lower left and get the search bar.
