That’s because it’s a Samsung app, so it’s located in the Galaxy Store.

If you would kindly notice in your link, the app version for that Samsung Messages app download is from September 2021. I don't think it's wise to use a version dated that far in the past, as the newest features would not be supported through that version. I've noticed that the color of the 'samsung messages' app shows as blue and white. My samsung messages app shows as pink, and the current google messages app shows in same color of blue and white.
However, thank you anyway for trying. My current samsung messages app (pink and white app) is starting to disintegrate with regards to it's functioning capabilities. It keeps wanting to sync when no sync settings are toggled on and I'm currently only receiving spoofed messages from numbers that either dont exist or from phone numbers that actually belong to real unsuspecting people. It's time for me to get another messages app for my S24, but not necessarily the Google messages app as I don't like them and I never I

The Samsung Messages app icon was NEVER pink, it was always white with the blue dots in a blue circle (unless you had an icon pack or theme).  If all you are getting is spoofed messages, perhaps it is your messaging app itself that's at fault.  It does not matter what date a link is from, the store ALWAYS has the current version.  You can be sure it's the official Samsung Messages app because it's in the *Galaxy* store, where all official Samsung and Samsung approved apps are.
