Why do mid range phone have microsd chips, while the flagship s series do not?

Why not add the microsd chip reader in the high end large memory versions of the s ultra and fold with 512g or bigger memory so power users have more memory to store their large 4 to 8 gb photos and videos on their phone to be downloaded later.

While Samsung is making the camera better they are lowering the memory to store them.

Think of this when you are roaming you are using the cloud storage you my have a very slow rate and be online for a long time and that is really costing more money.

Samsung is thinking of making money then making their flagship phones to make a profit and giving people less for their money.

Samsung needs to send text and emails to their customers to see what they want in their flagship galaxy s phone.

Bring back what made the galaxy s the best andriod phone on the market.

Now it is just like any other phone on the Market.

Samsung bring back the microsd chip.

Samsung think of what happened when you removed the Microsd chip on the Galaxy S6 and then you brought it back on the Galaxy S7.

You are adding the microsdin the mid range phone, but not on your flagship, that is like taking away features on a high-end car and putting more features on the basic car.

The higher the level of phone people buy they deserve more features not less. People will pay more when you add features to phone. They will buy phones that fit their needs.

I love my Galaxy S20 Ultra and I bought it because I loved my previous Galaxy S phone and this phone has 5G and it had the Microsd chip.

Have you considered using a USB-C-to-microSD Card Reader?

Or there are Flash/Phone Drives with USB-C that have 512g or more of storage.q5VaJrlYI2.jpgl6RfFbkOta.jpg

Unfortunately, I don't believe it's ever going to happen. Maybe you should consider another hill to die on. As @Je655 noted, you can use different types of USB C storage devices or converters.

You can store thousands of photos on 512gb, there is no pictures that will take more then 10mb. Videos are different story, they can take more but i never shoot a video that was more then 1gb.

The micro SD slot is the bone they throw to the mid range users for lack of the advanced features. The mid range phones typically have less storage in the first place, while the flagships can be purchased with a larger amount of storage. With the advent of smaller footprint flash drives, external card readers, larger internal drives, and cloud storage, there really is no need for an internal SD card. I don't see them coming back, and would not be surprised to see them vanish from the mid range phones soon.

Stop with the power user needs this, no you don't. You want it, that is a different story.

External storage is inexpensive now, there is no need for a SD card slot.

Can someone tell me what a "power user" is as opposed to a normal user?  Does it mean one always as their phone in their hand doing something?
