Some websites not opening

I cant get some very common websites to open. The browser times out. This just started happening 2 days ago, and I have not changed any settings or done anything drastic with my phone.

It is frustrating, as all of a sudden I am unable to access info from sites I use all the time. Is there something that can be done to test for issues or changed settings blocking these?

When this happens, I take the name of the site and search Google and see if it opens fine now.

Can you ping those sites?
Have you tried using cellular data instead of wifi?
Do you have an anti-virus program running?
What browser are you using?
Are you using a VPN or proxy?
What country are you in?

I just assumed it was the server side of things messed up

The problem is that it is about half of the websites I have been clicking on, so that would be an awful lot of servers having issues. I am pretty sure it is on my end.

@BrianDoug What are the DNS settings on your device? If the DNS server isn't responding, it will block you from being able to browse to web sites.
