Am I the only one who thinks that the T-Mobile-provided McAfee sucks ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘? For example, when my EdenRed App update from Google Play had a Trojan in it, Lookout/F-secure found/quarantined it, not McAfee. The McAfee scans I run never find anything on my S20 FE, but it very often says the Protection is on, but usually when I'm playing games for Fetch points. Why? Bc Fetch is tracking the usage? So McAfee is causing my phone to lag extremely, but doesn't tell me what is triggering it. Anybody else shares my sentiments towards their app/it's performance? Please advise. Thx.

What has that do do with Samsung? McAfee was never the best of the bunch and it should not behave different regardless whose branded license it's under.

Anyone who doesn't care about having their private information available for sale to the lowest bidder should use McAfee.
For those users who value their privacy & care about the security of their accounts, there is at least 1 solution available.
Norton360 in the Play Store as well as online for your other personal electronics from places like Amazon.
After downloading Norton 360 onto my laptop, tablet & Samsung Galaxy A53 & S24 it performed full diagnostic scans.
36 websites had my personal, information for sale, including my social security number.
McAfee said I was protected. Norton found 2 Trojans on my laptop. McAfee found 0.
Norton360 found at least 2 apps on the Galaxy phones that were known to contain malware. It Flagged them & I promptly uninstalled.

I use Malwarebytes myself - stellar protection, proactively and reactively.  At least I believe reactively, I've never had malware in the 15 years I have been using it, possibly because of the proactive measures - or, I've just been plain lucky.

I've been using Lookout/F-Secure since I got my S3 in 2012.

I noticed F-Secure Mobile Security App hasn't been updated since August 2025.

That sounds weird.  Most AV programs update at least monthly.  Perhaps the program itself hasn't updated, but the virus library has?
