Hi there!
This past week Samsung replaced the sleep cycles in the health app with sleep latency. I wish they would have kept it the old way, and added sleep latency as a feature. However, since the change my deep sleep also changed, well, at least that's what the app is telling me. I suddenly only get exactly 20 minutes, for four nights in a row now. That can't be right.
Any suggestions / insights on that? It almost appears it doesn't measure properly.

Thanks!

I noticed the same problem on my Galaxy watch 7.
Almost No deep sleep and little ReM now. My sleep scores dropped from an average of high 70s to low 40s starting in June.

And now the watch eight is out, with pretty much identical chipset and sensors, but with new features that they're not going to add to the watch 7, and also talk about have premier functions locked behind a subscription.
I think it's time to find another solution to track my sleep. Don't get me started on the tiny little graphs in the Samsung health app in the inability to do anything intelligent with the data outside of that app.

Thanks for commiseration here, dazone75. I am thinking about the Oara ring, but $350!? On the other hand, that would allow me to wear my once-again-fashionable Casio watch.

I actually hate wearing rings and watches, I'm only doing it for sleeping exercise tracking. Samsung is really irritating me.

Had a sleep track and device by ResMed that said on the head of my bed and didn't required to wear anything, but it's been problematic connecting to Bluetooth forever and the app isn't even in the Google Play store anymore

Since the update in late May this is what my sleep tracking looks like on a daily basis via my ring. If I wear my watch without the ring I'll get "normal" sleep tracking scores between 77 and 90 (normal for me prior to the late May update). I've contacted Samsung multiple times and have submitted a detailed trouble report with the assistance of Samsung but still no updates to my issue other than Samsung is aware of the issue and working on a fix. Bottom line, Samsung is not being upfront with this issue and now boarding on fraud with it's users, and I'm wondering if we are entering Class Action territory against Samsung. Is it worth it? Wear I work we have a Flexible Spending Account, and I can use that money to pay for an Oura ring. Thinking about that now, and then back to a regular watch. The only reason I use this Galaxy thing is for sleep/exercise/health etc. - not phone-related stuff.

How is it bordering on fraud if their statistics are inaccurate?  How were you, or anyone damaged to an extent that a class action would be warranted?  No one is stopping you from finding a lawyer and being the lead plaintiff in such an action - if you can get a lawyer to stop laughing long enough to be willing to start the action.

Well you read my post didn't ya. It's fraud based on the claims Samsung makes about the health benefits of it's products (irregardless of the mice type claims they make to the contrary to protect themselves). You forget, we live in a very litigious society, pretty sure I can find an attorney willing to take this on if for nothing else to get Samsungs attention and a small payday.

How's that class action coming along?

Well, someone at Samsung was paying attention. "Hi T3, This customer has been threatening a class action lawsuit so please check the attached logs in the quickshare link asap".

Since then, I've worked closely with Samsung and exchanged multiple emails, screenshots and logs. Samsung has shared an issue has been identified, and a fix will come out with the next ring software update.

Additionally, over the course of the last 5 days, my sleep scores have been in the mid-50s to mid-70s vs in the mid-teens. So I'm hopeful that Samsung is continuing to work on the issue and that a software fix is on the horizon, hopefully this year.

Pretty odd since I have the exact issue immediately after a software update where they no longer tell you your skin temperature only a range. Still not fixed.
