Parent to Child path not shown.
Makes it almost impossible to locate image in search results.

I'm confused? It appears that you have the file opened because I see the edit capability appears to be an option. So I wonder why it's giving you that error notice?

That's edit option for Tag, not the image.
Any image moves up to reveal details.

The actual path location - L-1011 file sits.
Vehicle Group/ Aircraft Group/ File L-1011.

Error Notice?
Now I'm confused.
What error notice.

Are you referring to yellow font script?
That's a note I made.
I even gave it a twisted angle to make it obvious.

So this post was waste of time?

Now I'm more confused. What, exactly, are you trying to accomplish? Find the file? Open the file? I don't understand why you need to see the path if you already know it? Kindly explain it so the five-year-old in me would understand. Thank you.

Oh, man, right from start in Gallery. You have a search menu - check if this is OK.
Search anything 'glasses'.
The results come back with 137 images from 30 different files and groups.

You wouldn't believe it, but in less than 1 sec the system found every image that have a pair of glasses on. This is truly amazing being not one of those images have the word 'glasses' in them.

Pick any image.
You will not be able to find where it's stored with only a single word of file name that it's stored at.
Just being shown an image is not enough.

It's probably in the wrong spot and needs to be moved. You need to go there to do that.
There's a workaround to move it, but we want to go to the sub file where it sits. Maybe I have other images that need to go there.

I've tried to explain details before, but every time I hit send, I get server error.
Hopefully it sends.

Thank you. I finally understand what you're asking. Let's make sure you're on the most recent version of gallery, mine is 15.6.04.2, which it says is the latest version is already installed. I've tried the search function, with dogs, wearing glasses, airplane and a variety of other different search words. All produce the desired result. Once I have all those results when I click on a picture if I swipe up I get the path. Is that what you're looking for?iwIxn8PVu0.jpg

I see you actually get the full path of where image is.
That's exactly what I wanted. That gives me hope if I ever get around to a new handset.

But I love everything about this phone. Where this gallery issue I could simply ignore.

My phone is the Note20Ultra.
All possible updates are done.

I could maybe go look for another 3rd party Gallery. But I doubt it exists in the class I need.

This Galaxy version is only a tad limited for a seventy yr old geek doing photography all my life.
The image process for altering images and saving image to file could be a bit more professional.
Vs 60~40~20% file size.
Where I typically I use 40% for news clippings, where quality is not a priority. To end up a file size of 150kb average, vs dumped to file at 3-7Mb.
At the mercy of memory.

Thanks for example provided. That was a huge help.

Okay you old fart, I'm from class of 1975, so I'm only a couple years younger than you! Anyway, glad I could help. I've had I believe seven galaxies now and I'm on a Galaxy s24 Ultra currently. My Note 10 plus was my favorite phone until now, if you can upgrade, I would certainly suggest it.
