Galaxy BudsNo need to "lie" to the adapt sound questionnaire. You don't even have to use adapt sound. But if you choose to use adapt sound, you would just set up your custom profile. It's been a while since I set up mine, by I think it has options for low and high range preferences. You can just tap on the equalizer in the sound settings and choose one of the pre-sets, such as "bass boost", or a custom equalizer and set your own sound profile. Settings/sounds and vibrations/sound quality and effects/equalizer. I believe the equalizer settings apply both to ear gear and the phone speakers and, likely, external BT speakers while the sound profiles only apply to ear gear.

Galaxy BudsSo, did you not know this when you bought the buds? Because I can adjust the EQ with my cheap, non-special buds. I don't imagine a setting like that would be mentioned in any specs, but if it was me and a feature like that was important, I'd likely search for the answer to that or come here and ask.
I would think, though, adapt sound aside, the phone's EQ settings would work outside of the buds app. Also, the music player I use (not Samsung) has it's own equalizer which can be customized. I imagine it will also work with the buds. Incidentally, there is no reason to not use adapt sound. It's a tool, as are many things that do tasks the native apps don't do. Not everyone wants full on bass, or wants to fuss with an equalizer, and I do like the fact that the sound adjusts for my preferred, or dominant, ear. I would even venture to say that full-on audiophiles are buying something better than Galaxy buds.
