Zfold 7 inner screen failure

I have been a fold user for years, had the zfold 5 and zfold 6 for about a year each.  Upgraded to the fold 7 and within less than a month the screen failed without any abuse.  It was working fine, I put it in my (empty) pocket and when I re-opened it the screen didn't work.  Just some random flickers that changed depending on how much I had the phone open.  Then I noticed hundreds (thousands?) of micro cracks across he screen.

Went to a service center they took pictures and sent do Samsung who refused warranty coverage saying it was "physical damage" and that I had closed something in the screen.  That is not true, it was literally just sitting closed in my pocket.

Buyer beware, the screen may have a fundamental problem, never had issues with my past folds.  Also the 12 month warranty is worthless if they can just claim you abused the device.

Same exact thing happend to me. I cant afford a 800 dollar replacement nor shouldn't I need to because of a manufacturer error. Was just in pocket havent really even opened it for it to do what I did and I got the exact same micro cracks the exact same way. I dont know what to do. Looks like im going to be using just the front till i can upgrade to a new phone 💀

Opened my phone today to check a notification, heard a barely audible snapping noise. The screen top turned white, then blacked out after about a minute. There are visible tiny cracks in the center of the screen along where it folds. Absolutely 0 damage to this phone, not even a scratch on it. Pretty new, under 2 months of use. Never dropped, never wet. My wife was right next to me and saw the screen failure with me. Literally nothing happened other than opening the phone like usual. Armor box by iblason case.

Sorry this has happened to you, it seems there are quite a few devices this has happen to. I hope you have some kind of insurance because Samsung will never admit to a manufacturing defect. You can contact the Samsung Care team on line through the members app in the support tab.

I would also contact the CEO at this link

I've got samsung care+. I heard from someone at the repair place I was told to take it to today by samsung that this is a frequent issue. Just wanted to share my experience so people can see its a real possibility with these devices.

Glad you have Care +, you shouldn't have to use it but they will blame you for the damage.

Mine just did same thing. 14 days old. It was on charger playing fine. I opened it and it looked about the same except for the center only has a small mark.
And it has a case on it and both screen protector.
😔 my replacement is in the mail.

Wondering if heat can cause this. I noticed mine when charging gets quite warm. And it happened to quit working while on charge. And warm as normal does.
