Hi there, 

Lastly from a couple weeks after updating to One UI 8, the finger print scanner hardly works and I have literally disabled the lock on fingerprint. 

I am back to Pattern lock. Turns out the issue is widespread but is there any official response from Samsung so an update can fix the issue again?

Its so frustrating.

You need to open the Support tab here in the Members app and run the diagnostics for the fingerprint sensor. You can also create feedback there to Samsung tech support about the problem. That's the only way to get an official response from Samsung.

Well for me I followed other instructions to remove and re-add, but now I can't even add new prints so the diagnostics won't allow me to run the test. This is so frustrating.

It sounds like you need to take your phone to your closest Samsung authorized service provider for testing and evaluation.
